Fruitful Office and Emma at Work

About Emma at Work

Emma at Work helps young people with disabilities find holiday jobs, part-time jobs, or permanent positions. This way, they gain valuable work experience and build step by step towards an independent future. Their message is clear: young people with disabilities are just as valuable to the labour market as anyone else.

Together for inclusive office fruit

Since the very beginning, we have been working with Emma at Work. Young people from their network support our production team and help with quality control of every fruit crate we deliver. Thanks to our customers, more than ten young people with chronic illnesses or disabilities have already been able to gain work experience at Fruitful Office. That’s how office fruit provides not only a healthier workplace, but also real social impact.

More fruit, more jobs

The more companies choose office fruit, the more jobs we can create together. With an office fruit subscription from Fruitful Office, you give your team a healthier, more vital workplace and support young people from Emma at Work.

Proud winners of the Okura – Emma at Work Award

In 2013, we proudly won the Okura – Emma at Work Award. This award recognises companies that show young people with disabilities can thrive in the workplace. The prize, an initiative by Hotel Okura and Emma at Work, was presented to us by Freek de Jonge.

Sebastian Brokmann, co-founder of Fruitful Office:
“Our very first colleague, Gwensly Ricardo, joined us through Emma at Work when we had just started out. He gave more than 100% and helped get Fruitful Office off the ground at a time when we had almost nothing. Gwensly is still part of our team today, and in total, ten young people have worked with us via Emma at Work. Their dedication has been key to Fruitful Office’s success. We look forward to welcoming many more motivated young people, because they are truly valuable to our company.”

The jury praised our courage: “Fruitful Office had the courage to start with a workforce that largely consisted of people with a distance to the labour market.”

During the award ceremony, Hotel Okura hosted a workshop where Emma at Work youth, Wouter Bruggink and Annabel Bausch, joined the kitchen team and showed guests how different dishes are prepared.
